I was sitting on the stage at my graduation ceremony when the question What next? popped into my head. I spent 4 years of hard work at this stage of my life in order to get ready for the next stage. If you are living in the same situation, here are three different routes that you can choose from.
Apply for a graduate job
You can join most of the new graduates and start looking for a job. As a new graduate, you should search for job vacancies with small and medium-sized enterprises rather than big companies. Because in small companies you will have a greater chance of professional training and career development. Remember it is better to choose a job that is related to your degree and skills.
Build your own business
Are you struggling to find your dream job? Do you have a creative business idea? What are you waiting for? Set up your own business as a freelancer or a business owner. Being self-employed helps you to be more independent and free from routine. In addition, you are your own manager, so no one has the authority to direct your work or decide when, where and how to work. Although it might sound wonderful but make sure that you are ready to perform challenging tasks such as marketing your products or services and managing your staff and money
Pursue postgraduate study
The third possible option is to keep going in your study. If you have a real interest to gain more knowledge about a specific field, you should enroll in a postgraduate study directly after graduation. Also, it would be great if you had a scholarship to study abroad. This will help you broaden your thinking, expand your experience and strengthen your personality.
