Petroleum Engineering Certification Options
You have two options to earn the Petroleum Engineering certification.
- The First option: taking the Petroleum Engineering exam at a convenient Kryterion testing location.
- The second option: passing a written competency exam to practice in petroleum engineering. Only exams administered by Indonesia (IATMI), Alberta (Canada), and all U.S. states (PE licensed) are accepted.

- You need to renew your SPE Petroleum Engineering Certification annually.
- You should participate in 16 hours of continued professional development each year
