The Certified Treasury Professional, CTP certification is the leading credential in corporate treasury worldwide. Most employers are looking for certified treasury professionals, so obtaining CTP credential helps you stand out among other applicants. In addition, holders of CTP earn up to 16% more than non-certified ones, according to the AFP website. CTP Credential proves that you have the required knowledge and skills to successfully perform critical functions in Cash and Liquidity Management, Working Capital Management and Capital Markets and Funding.
Note: each question on the CTP exam from 2017 through 2019 is derived from the body of knowledge, Essentials of Treasury Management, 5th Edition.
The CTP exam tests your abilities in different functions such as managing optimal cash positioning, utilizing various types of payment systems, optimizing capital structure, coordinating financial functions and implementing working capital strategies.

CTP certification Exam Details
- Once you pass the exam you are officially considered a CTP.
- The exam consists of 170 multiple choice questions and it is held at Pearson VUE testing centers.
CTP certification Renewal
Every three years you are required to maintain your certification:
- earn 36 continuing education credits
- report your credits.
- pay the recertification fee.
