Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP) program is designed specifically for professionals with a high level of knowledge, experience and capability in the activities related to the purchase, sale, and marketing of electricity and natural gas. This certification is awarded by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) which is considered an international source for information in many important fields such as energy engineering, energy management, power generation, energy services, and related areas. AEE has a wide network of over 17,500 professionals in 98 countries and it is recognized for its energy certification programs.
By adding the CEP certification to your resume, you will be known as a qualified expert in this field among other competitors in the global energy marketplace. In addition, it will help you certify your knowledge and improve your competencies to catch the attention of your present and prospective employers.
In order to be a Certified Energy Procurement Professional, you need to complete a training program in addition to passing a four-hour written examination.
According to the AEE website, you need to meet ONE of the following eligibility criteria:

In order to obtain CEP certification, you are required to
1-register for the CEP Training Seminar
2- complete your certification application
3- register for an exam through one of the training providers.

- You need to obtain Continuing Education Units (CEU) or Professional Development Hours (PDH) every 3 years. A total of 10 renewal credits are required.
